Good day parents and students:
Please remember to log into your Powerschool account and check for any missing assignments ( you will know the the assignment is missing because there will be no grade and a yellow M appears). These are assignments that may still be turned in. Please show them to me before Wednesday, March 16th. Failing to do so will result in your grade turning into a 0 and your Quarter 3 score being affected.
I hope all of you enjoyed the spring break. We need to be rested and ready to begin this last partial of the school year!!
Please take a look at what we will be doing this week
6th Grade Math
Binder check for Quarter 3 will take place on Monday, March 14th. Students already got their checklist last week.
We will begin our unit on probability. First, we will review converting fractions, decimals and percents, how to solve proportions, and simplifying fractions, since these skills are the foundation of the unit. Then, we will take a look at theoretical probability and making predictions.

February 7-10
Good day dear students:
I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Congratulations to the AST's Knowledge Ball teams and coaches for a great job at the ABSH tournament!!
We are very close to finishing up the first 5 weeks of the 3rd partial, which means that mid-quarter grades are around the corner. We must be on top of upcoming evaluations and projects by keeping our agendas updated. Please take a look at what we will be happening in class this week.
6th Grade Math
The group projects the students had been working with the last 5 class sessions have been presented. Each team had a chance to show their mastery of the topic they were assigned, and then everybody tried out their different activities or games. Since this same project will be displayed on February 16th to the MS students during the Math Walkthrough, teams still need to improve their work with suggestions made by the teacher and their fellow classmates. Please make sure these recommendations are put into practice and are ready by the date mentioned.
This week we will begin our Unit on Fraction operatios. We will review addition and subtraction of fractions first.

January 31st - February 4th
Hello everybody:
The ABSH Knowledge Bowl will be taking place this week at the American School. Another chance to show our excellent hosting skills and how proud we feel about being Eagles. Good luck to all!!
Please read the following information.
6th Grade Math
Students were assigned a team project last Wednesday and were randomly assigned a topic about Fraction Number Theory. They already have the instructions and rubric to guide them. This is a very important activity because they will be displaying their work to all MS students in a Math walkthrough in a couple of weeks.
The groups will meet in class, and that's when they should get together to work. Individual duties should be done at home and then put together when they meet in class the next day. Students must comply with their assigned task or materials on a daily basis. Students should not be meeting after school or at somebody's home. If they do, that means that they have not used their class time effciently; therefore, their grade will be affected.
Project is due this week. Presentations will begin on Thursday, February 3rd for 6-3, and Friday, February 4th for the other 3 sections.
Have a great week!!
